About the Project
The inspiration for the design of this very special home came from a drawing by the Owners’ daughter, resulting in an exciting juxtaposition of forms and inter-connecting interior spaces.
The design sketch shows glazing and decks to the north, and a future tower and cable suspension bridge on the south end of the house, connecting it across a steam to a secluded clearing on the wooded hillside with unspoiled views of the valley.
The house itself is situated on the hillside with panoramic views of Whitemans Valley. The house is oriented to the sun, using the thermal mass of concrete slabs and masonry for passive solar interior space heating.
The interior living spaces are open yet intimate due to the graceful curvature of the ceiling and curved walls. This is a very special family home, designed and built with much loving care by its very innovative owners.
